White Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas enjoying time with Evie and friends. We started the morning with opening Evie's Christmas presents, rushing to get through them before the snow would start to melt. Evie became fussy about half way through presents, so we quickly bundled her up and rushed outside in our pj's to get pictures in the snow.

Later in the day, we went to Clare and David's house for Christmas dinner. What a delicious spread! Evie had fun playing, napping, and opening presents at their house.

After we left Clare's house, we had to finish opening Evie's Christmas presents!

Christmas Eve Winter Wonderland

Judd and I were super disappointed about not being able to fly home to Florida for Christmas. After moping around for a day or two, we decided that we should make the best of it here in Dallas. Little did we know that our first Christmas in DFW and Evie's first Christmas would turn out to be our very first white Christmas! Early Thursday morning, the snow started to flutter to the ground. I rushed outside several times to video us in the snow. Judd was out Christmas shopping, so I had to self video Evie and me. As the day went on, the temperature continued to plummet. The snow and wind became stronger. At 3:30 Judd headed out to the church to setup for the Christmas Eve service. Evie and I met him there at 5:15, a little late because I forgot I would have to scrape snow off of the car! When the service was over around 6:30, conditions outside were not pretty! The wind was blowing like crazy, and the snow was swirling in all directions. Judd and I had to drive home separately, and boy was it scary skidding on ice and peeping through a tiny bit of my defrosted windshield. Needless to say, we were happy to make it home safe and sound!

Just for Fun

Evie with Rachel and Asher

Holding Ms. Clare's present

The flash was very alarming to Evie

I had to cut the onesie to make it a shirt so it would fit.

Oops! Spit up!

Evie has an Admirer

Last weekend my friend Camille babysat Evie so Judd and I could go to a Christmas party. Camille brought her 4 year old son Joshua over to "help" take care of Evie. Little Josh was so excited to play with Evie and hold her. To his disappointment, Evie went to bed at 7:30. His mom said he kept begging to wake her up so they could play. So cute!

A couple of weeks ago Josh actually met Evie when Clare babysat him one afternoon while she had Evie.

Evie was a little confused by this little person holding her.
She kept looking at my like "Mommy, come get me."

Flying Baby!!!

I leave it up to Judd to play rough with Evie. He's not afraid to have a little fun that often involves quick movements. I just warn him to wait a little bit after E eats unless he wants to wear her food.

Evie Visits Bluebonnet

Today was the last day of school before Christmas Break. Evie's babysitter, Clare, went to her 5th grade son's Christmas party during my break time. So, we did a little switch. I got to play with Evie for about 30 minutes at work. My coworkers had so much fun holding her! My students from last year and my current ones were SOOOO excited to finally meet Evie.

Evie was fascinated with Connie's jingling antlers.

Bloopers

We were taking the family Christmas portrait with our tripod and got many funny shots along the way!!!

Playing Around

One afternoon Judd and I were reminiscing about how we use to wear our shirts on our head when we were kids. We then had the brilliant idea to do the same to Evie. It was cute and got even cuter when she spit up.

All Dressed Up

Thanks to Aunt Charlie, Uncle Gio, and cousin Luca, Evie had an ADORABLE dress to wear to church! I had to snap a couple of pictures before we left.

This is what Evie Thinks about Rice Cereal

So, we have been trying to feed Evie rice cereal, and she's not too thrilled as you can see from the pictures.

4 Months

It's hard to believe that my little baby is already 4 months old! She is changing so fast. Evie is a social butterfly, letting anyone hold her. She's so exciting and now can...
laugh
ooh and ahh
grab things
put things in her mouth
kick
roll from her back to stomach
lift her head 90 degrees
pet Wilson
stand assisted
follow objects around the room
smile
let anyone hold her
SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT!

There's probably more but, you get the idea!

first snow

On the way to work this past Tuesday, it was a very cold, wet morning! As I drove to Clare's I noticed that the rain looked strange. Then I noticed little ice chunks forming on the perimeter of my windshield. The rain had turned into sleet. As I continued to drive, the sleet turned into SNOW! When I arrived at Clare's we rushed outside to take a picture of Evie in her first snow! This is North Texas for you! One week earlier I didn't even need a jacket!

Baptism

This morning Evie was baptized with her friend Asher. It was such a precious moment. I am so glad Evie has so many loving people around her willing to do their best in honoring Christ.
