Temple Christian Pumpkin Patch

Every year Evie's school, Temple Christian Learning Center, has a pumpkin patch party for the kids. The kids get to dress up in their costume and play in the pumpkin patch. They also have a bounce house, popcorn, and snow cones. Evie's class even had a bounce house just for them! The pumpkin patch festivities last for two days. One of the days I left work during my break to take pictures of Evie playing in the pumpkin patch. We also picked out a pumpkin to take home!

The class sit at the table for their daily lessons (letters and numbers), arts and crafts, and meal times.

Judd's 30th Birthday

Yes, Judd's 30th birthday was a month ago. We had a low key party. Being bogged down with work, switching to a new daycare, and Evie being sick 90% of the time, I didn't have the energy to organize a birthday bash at the house. Instead, we gathered with our closest friends at Deliman's Grill. It was great. We basically had the place to ourselves. The kids could run around. The adults could socialize. It worked out quite well. Judd had fun, which was the GOAL!

State Fair of Texas

We finally visited the State Fair of Texas, after living in Dallas for almost 5 years! We went first thing in the morning and spent a good four hours exploring the petting zoo, livestock, concession, and the midway.

Concession Stands

The top two awards this year went to:

fried beer as most creative new menu item and

fried Frito Chili Pie for best taste.

Last year Oprah visited the State Fair of Texas to eat fried butter.

We went simple. with a classic "Fletcher's Corny Dog."

It is debated that the Fletchers "invented" the corn dog in the 1940's.

We realized that Mr. Fletcher was enjoying a Corny Dog in his golf cart right next to us.
