Swimming with Friends

Evie's friends, Pierce and Macie, came over for a swim today. They had a great time playing with water toys, splashing, and going for rides in the baby float. After playing so hard, they had a picnic on our patio with pizza, watermelon, cantelope, and brownies. Yum! It was Evie's first time to eat pizza and brownies. She inhaled the brownie! It was a great time- hope to do it again!

Ready for the Heat

Wild Kingdom

Living on a creek we have our fair share of wildlife sightings naming: hawks, horned owls, hummingbirds, cardinals, blue jays, huge lizards, snakes, raccoons, coyotes (heard them, but haven't seen), bobcats (Judd saw it), and armadillo. We now have an armadillo visiting our backyard on a regular basis. He is not scared of people at all- just keeps going about his business even with us hovering over him.

It's a little ironic to see all of these animals in DFW- cement- cars- stores- roads- people- everywhere!

Of course we can't forget Wilson! He doesn't really go outside.

Future Virtuoso

Judd pulled out his trusty old $50 Goodwill bargain fiddle and played a little concert for Evie. It was a little loud, so she seemed a little agitated at first. He played again for her today, and she was jumping up and down and squealing. We have three fiddles. One has her name on it.

You know summer has started when the community pool opens! My mom and I took Evie to the park on Memorial Day. We walked over to the pool to sneak a peak at the kiddie play pool. I thought it wouldn't be open for another week, but I was wrong. It was packed! After yard work, lunch, and Evie's nap we all headed back to the pool.

When I returned to work the next day my students all had golden tans. Summer is here. Amen. Now school just needs to end! Five more days!
