Seven Months

It's hard to believe this baby of mine is already 7 months old! She has such a curious mind and is on the go when she's awake. Now that she crawls, she beelines to dog toys and shoes. Those are her favorite things! I am going to have to improve my housekeeping. Katy also likes to be on the move when we change her diaper or get her dressed. Many times we have a runaway naked baby! She even climbed out of her Bumbo in the bathtub, so now she just sits in the tub of shallow water. She even tries to crawl in the tub! Lately, she has lost patience with babyfood purees. She would much rather do it herself is she was coordinated enough to control a spoon. I started giving her table food like bananas, avocado, steamed zucchini, and steamed broccoli. She gobbles it all up! There of course is a mess on her, the high chair, and the floor, but it makes her so happy when I let her feed herself. Of course Katy adores Evie, and tries to keep up with her. She squeals when she sees her! Also, Katy has started to give me kisses. Those open mouth slobbery kisses are the best! I'm pretty sure Katy has brown eyes or hazel.

Christmas Program at Stringfellow

Evie's school had their Christmas program. The 4 year olds were dressed as shepards (boys) and sheep (girls).  They sand "Away in a Manger", "Happy Birthday Jesus", and Christmas version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". They were so sweet and did such a beautiful job. I can tell their teachers worked very hard with them! After the program they had a reception of punch and cookies. Then I handed off the kids to mom, and I went to work for the rest of the day. Katy slept through most of the program!

Ice-mageddon

We had sleet and frozen rain come over night, and the ice stayed on the ground for 6 days! We had two days of no school! A four day weekend was nice! During our ice-ed in time, we did a lot of crafts and cooking and a little sledding on a Rubbermade lid. By the way, that white stuff is solid ice, like a skating rink! No joke.

Thanksgiving Feast

Evie's school had a feast for the kids. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any food for the parents!! One of Evie's former school's had quite a spread for everyone!

We Saw Santa Claus

Grandma Deb came to visit the week before Thanksgiving. Since Santa's Workshop was already running at Bass Pro, we decided to head over. We got there like two hours early by mistake, so we went to Grapevine Mills for lunch and Granda Deb bought Evie a winter coat. After killing time, we headed across the street back to Bass Pro and there was Santa! It was a Monday, so not many people were there. Santa had some leisure time, so he played with the kids. We even got a family pic with him. Evie played her own version of checkers with him, and Grandma Deb took a selfie with him for Facebook. So fun!
