A Taste of Bliss

Today the kids and I headed to Coppell Farmer's Market to buy some peaches and to play int he new water feature and playground! Coppell has done a mighty fine job! The new market is gorgeous. Tall San Francisco type houses line the roads. Family flock from merchant to merchant. Kids play in the water and take a break to eat a freshly baked scone or bight into a juicy peach fresh from the farm. LOVE.

Right as we walked up to the fountains, I was surprised (but not surprised) to see some friends! Across the way, I saw my neighbor! It's great being connected in a community!

Later in the day, Evie got a hair cut. She requested a bob. I obliged. Sniff, sniff. She hates getting her hair brushed, so it's probably for the better!

After that we picked out fabric for Evie's birthday dress. I can say that maybe we were on the go a lithe too much today! While I was putting Katy to bed, Evie and I had an argument. She walked away slamming the door and went to her room. I went to check on her, and she was asleep. Love her. 

Katy is a TODDLER

Since Katy turned ONE, she has blossomed into a tiny person with many ideas and methods of communicating. She is changing so fast, and acts like a toddler! Already?! I feel like her mind is thinking about so much, yet she can't talk, so she is finding ways to get what she needs by playing with her vocal chords and learning hand gestures.

And one of my favorites: SLEEPS THROUGH THE NGHT!!!!!! HALLELUJAH! I had given up on sleep training. She is a strong willed person. She will not do things until she is good and ready. All of a sudden, she was ready and did it! Believe me, I know all about BabyWise and the Baby Whisperer. Katy goes by her OWN book. She will probably always have the character trait of persistence! Love her to pieces.

I really love how Evie and Katy have their own identity. They look different and have different personalities. Evie is my blue eyed blonde rule follower. Katy is my brown haired hazel eyed wild woman! 

Party Weekend

Since Katy's birthday fell on Head for the Cure and Mother's Day weekend, we celebrated with a party on the 18th. Judd's parents flew into town. It was a really great weekend that went by absolutely too fast!!!

Saturday night Judd had a gig in Farmerville. Bluestem opened for the Byron Berline band, a very talented Bluegrass group with members that have played with Bill Monroe himself! These fellows were probably in their 70's or 80's. I wonder how this style of music will survive when these guys pass on.

The night of the concert we had a babysitter, and it just so happened that it was the FIRST time in HISTORY that Katy slept for 8 hours without waking up!!!!!!! And she stayed in her crib the entire time! I'm happy to report that it has been going on for two weeks of sleeping through the night from 7 to 12 hours! FINALLY!

Katy's PARTY was a Heritage Park in Flower Mound. They have a great wooden play structure playground and a pavilion. It was really a beautiful day of perfect weather. This was the first time Katy had been to a park and was able to walk around exploring it! She was on a mission. She had places to go, as you can see in many of the pics! This day was the first time I saw Katy intentionally point to things. She was pointing at everything!
