Fun after a Bath

One night Judd thought Evie's hair spelled funky, so he insisted on giving her a bath. Our sweet girl just loves bath time! She is fascinated by the running water and loves feeling the warm water pour over her. After her bath we bundled her up in a snuggly towel!

Sleeping Through the Night

By far one of the hardest adjustments in motherhood for me was getting use to sleep deprivation. I am one who needs 8+ hours of sleep each night. Well, that surely changed once Evie was born. My body gradually adjusted to sleeping and waking every two hours in the night. As Evie grew older, she started increasing time between feedings at night. First I dropped her middle of the night feeding, so she would eat at 10pm and wake up again between 2am and 4am for an early morning feed. Then she would wake for the day at 7:30. Now I am proud to report that for three days in a row Evie has gone up to 10 hours between eating! Her last feeding is now around 8pm and goes all the way until 6am to eat again! When Evie was first born I thought this day would never come! Well, it has come and in plenty of time before I return to work!

Going for a Walk

After several days of gloomy weather, we finally had a day full of sunshine! Evie and I had to get out of the house and go for a walk.

Two Month Checkup

On October 9, Evie turned two months old, and she also visited the pediatrician. She is a growing healthy baby girl! The doctor said I was doing a good job. Evie weighed 10lbs 2oz (25%) and was 23 1/4in long (80%). You might notice the disparity between her weight and height percentiles. I sure did, escpecially because she was 75% percentile in weight at her two week appointment! Well, we have figured out the Evie probably has reflux. Poor little girl spits up all the time. To help our little one keep things down, she is on an antacid, hopefully temporarily!

Shoe Shopping

I found so many cute shoes for Evie at Once Apon a Child Consignment shop. When I got home, I had to have Evie try them on. Well, they were all too big, except for a pair of winter boots! She was so cute trying them on and kicking her little legs around.

Lunch with the Girls

Evie went to her first restaurant last week. You see we've been nervous, especially me, about taking Evie to eat with us. I guess we're afraid of the germs and her crying. Well, finally I decided I just needed to get out for lunch. So I met Clare (Evie's Caretaker) and Sherri (a former student's parent) at Jason's Deli. It was so easy, because Evie had a full tummy of milk, so she was very sleepy. Plus Clare and Sherri were dieing to hold her. Evie fell asleep pretty fast and was content the entire time! Our first "eating out" was a success!

Evie Smiles

For a while now, Evie has been smiling for us, but I just recently captured it on camera. She loves when we talk and sing to her. It just makes her smile! My favorite part is when I get her out of the crib in the morning. She's so happy to see me!
