Christmas Program at Stringfellow

Evie's school had their Christmas program. The 4 year olds were dressed as shepards (boys) and sheep (girls).  They sand "Away in a Manger", "Happy Birthday Jesus", and Christmas version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". They were so sweet and did such a beautiful job. I can tell their teachers worked very hard with them! After the program they had a reception of punch and cookies. Then I handed off the kids to mom, and I went to work for the rest of the day. Katy slept through most of the program!

Ice-mageddon

We had sleet and frozen rain come over night, and the ice stayed on the ground for 6 days! We had two days of no school! A four day weekend was nice! During our ice-ed in time, we did a lot of crafts and cooking and a little sledding on a Rubbermade lid. By the way, that white stuff is solid ice, like a skating rink! No joke.

Thanksgiving Feast

Evie's school had a feast for the kids. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any food for the parents!! One of Evie's former school's had quite a spread for everyone!

We Saw Santa Claus

Grandma Deb came to visit the week before Thanksgiving. Since Santa's Workshop was already running at Bass Pro, we decided to head over. We got there like two hours early by mistake, so we went to Grapevine Mills for lunch and Granda Deb bought Evie a winter coat. After killing time, we headed across the street back to Bass Pro and there was Santa! It was a Monday, so not many people were there. Santa had some leisure time, so he played with the kids. We even got a family pic with him. Evie played her own version of checkers with him, and Grandma Deb took a selfie with him for Facebook. So fun!

Six Months

Katy is half a year old! That is really hard to believe. She wants to get into everything! Already she is getting on all fours in crawl position. It will be soon. Still, she manages to maneuver to where she wants to go! The tv catches her attention. She loves chewing in tags. When she sees a book, she attacks it with her mouth! She is always intrigued by Evie! Sometimes Evie wants her space, however! Katy is a pro at eating from a spoon. Her favorite babyfood are sweet potatoes and green beans, handmade by yours truly. Her sleep habits have not improved much. Since I started working I would say she has regressed. All I can figure is she misses mamma and wants extra nursing and cuddle time at night. I am ok with her not sleeping through the night. She will one day, but I'm not crossing my fingers for any time soon. I expect to get a better handle on it once summer hits. I'm thankful that I'm not obsessing over it. Coffee is my friend! Anyway, at the 6 month check we got Katy's stats. Her rate of growth in height is slowing down, possibly genetics. She is 50 percentile in everything! She has the cutest baby rolls!

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween with our tradition of trick or treating with our neighbors. We had Ariel, Minnie Mouse, and a fire fighter. I reused the tutu Evie wore for her first Halloween! Katy did a great job of staying awake most of the time. During the last leg, I wore her in the ergo, and she fell asleep.
