7-27-09 Marks 7 years of marriage for Judd and I! Every year gets better! We grow more in love with each other as time passes. Little did I know, that seven years after our wedding day, we would be waiting for the second best thing (marriage being #1) to happen in our life...the birth of our first child. Judd and I have had so many wonderful years together (11 total). I know there are more to come!!!

Passing Time

It sure has been nice to have all this free time during the summer to finish getting ready for Evie. I am SO thankful that I am not working right now. At the beginning of summer I was in a hurry to get everything taken care of and checked off my long list of things to do. Well, I've finished the checklist, and now I am trying to devise ways to pass time. I try to plan one outing a day so I can get out of the house. Last week when Judd was in South Africa, I went to Jillian's 8th birthday party at the Brookhaven Pool. At 6:00pm it was still a stifling 100 degrees! We all quickly devoured hamburgers and hot dogs, opened presents, and ate cupcakes. Then we all made a mad dash to the pools. While I was there I had a little practice baby time holding Asher. He's so cute and growing so fast! He's going to tower over Evie.

This week I started a major project I wanted to get finished before Evie arrives. I sewed her a baby blanket to use on the floor during tummy time. It took me two days to make it. Now I just need my mom to hand stitch a couple of inches, because I stink at hand stitching. Maybe one day I will graduate from sewing blankets and make a Halloween costume or something fun like that! I'm already brainstorming ideas for Halloween. Evie and Asher can have costumes that go together like....Bam Bam and Pebbles or Fred and Wilma Flinestone???? Hmmmm.....don't know yet.

19 Days to Go!!

Last night Judd and I took our last round of belly shots. Evie has grown so much since the last shots! I'm definitely feeling bigger these days. Sleeping and maneuvering has become a lot more challenging lately, but it's all worth it. We're still wondering what day the Lord will bring Evie into the world. We can't wait!

27 Days Left

So....I am 36 weeks along and less than a month away until my due date! I hate that it is such a mystery of when Judd and I will actually meet Evie. We are hoping that my body goes into labor on its own, but are ready to accept the fact that sometimes things don't work that way. We just want a healthy baby. I have weekly doctor appointments every Tuesday. So far, there is no progress to report. I am measuring 38 weeks pregnant, but that doesn't really mean I would deliver early. I'm just all baby. My short stature allows less room for the baby to spread out. Instead, she's scrunched up. I'm all baby. We are pretty much ready to go...the hospital bag is packed, we're preregistered at the hospital, Wilson has a babysitter, baby's room is ready, and we have all the baby gear. Swimming Buddies

Our friends' Rachel, Brandon, and their son Asher came to our house for a swim. We weren't sure if Asher would like it, but he LOVED the warm summer water. With temperatures reaching 100 degrees, our pool is quite nice, not too hot or too cold. Luckily the shade from trees help it stay nice. Asher had such a great time kicking and splashing his feet. Next summer he and Evie can be swimming buddies!

Evie's Room

When we moved into our home three years ago, we decided not to paint the children's upstairs bedrooms until we had children of our own. Well, we couldn't stand the magenta in the upstairs office, so we did paint it a nice khaki color. The remaining kid's room was left in its camouflage state. When we learned we were having a girl, we were so excited to get rid of the ugly brown! We were determined to not go too pink. We wanted the room to be girly, but not overbearingly, girly. I think we found a nice balance. Finally, we added the finishing touch by hanging the pictures on the wall. Everything is ready to go! For the first few months Evie will actually sleep downstairs in our Pack n' Play bassinet. When she's a couple of months old, she will sleep in her room.

The Countdown is Here!

These past couple of weeks have been quite busy! Each day I seem to have something scheduled whether it's bible study, grocery shopping, errands, car repairs, yard work, etc! It's been hard for me to realize I don't have the stamina I used to. I get tired pretty quickly and take a nap almost daily. I am very thankful I haven't had to work at the end of my pregnancy! Just doing a load of laundry is tiring enough.

This past weekend my parents were here for a quick visit. I had my last baby shower and celebrated my birthday with them. The baby shower was so beautiful and decidant. We ate off of china! I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends! I'm glad my mom was able to spend time getting to know them. As a birthday gift, Judd bought my mom and I massages at the Gaylord Texan. How great it was to be pampered!
