Six Months

Katy is half a year old! That is really hard to believe. She wants to get into everything! Already she is getting on all fours in crawl position. It will be soon. Still, she manages to maneuver to where she wants to go! The tv catches her attention. She loves chewing in tags. When she sees a book, she attacks it with her mouth! She is always intrigued by Evie! Sometimes Evie wants her space, however! Katy is a pro at eating from a spoon. Her favorite babyfood are sweet potatoes and green beans, handmade by yours truly. Her sleep habits have not improved much. Since I started working I would say she has regressed. All I can figure is she misses mamma and wants extra nursing and cuddle time at night. I am ok with her not sleeping through the night. She will one day, but I'm not crossing my fingers for any time soon. I expect to get a better handle on it once summer hits. I'm thankful that I'm not obsessing over it. Coffee is my friend! Anyway, at the 6 month check we got Katy's stats. Her rate of growth in height is slowing down, possibly genetics. She is 50 percentile in everything! She has the cutest baby rolls!

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween with our tradition of trick or treating with our neighbors. We had Ariel, Minnie Mouse, and a fire fighter. I reused the tutu Evie wore for her first Halloween! Katy did a great job of staying awake most of the time. During the last leg, I wore her in the ergo, and she fell asleep.

Pumpkin Patch

There is a quaint little pumpkin patch at the Lutheran Church by our house. It's the perfect size for some pictures and then to pick out a pumpkin. Evie's school actually took a field trip their last week. She had a blast! They had story time, relay races, snacks, and crafts! It lasted 2 hours!!

Evie was in a silly mood for these pics. Katy did take a tumble off the bench when Evie let go of her! Oops!

5 Months

Oh my! So much has happened in the past month! I feel like Katy is changing at warp speed. She started sitting on her own for a minute at a time (still pretty unstable). She also started eating rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and green beans. We didn't spend much time on rice cereal, we went pretty quickly to pureed baby food. I have a BlendTech blender that does a fabulous job of pureeing perfectly. We haven't bought jarred baby food yet. We may not, ever. From the beginning, Katy was very eager to eat food. She opens her mouth like a little baby bird. She still sleeps on her tummy. Mommy went back to work, so Katy is drinking from a bottle pretty good. Big girl also got her first two (bottom) TEETH! I knew she was teething and sure enough, one tooth popped through. A couple days later, the next one debuted! In the picture below, her two teeth are showing! Also, I think her eyes are turning brown or hazel. The verdict is still out.

Just for fun, here's Evie and Katy at about 4 months old in the same dress, 

in the same chair. Katy definitely has more baby fat rolls than Evie ever did. 

Still, Katy is 50th percentile in weight. Just right.
