Evie and Wilson

Wilson and Evie's relationship did not start off on a positive note. When Evie was a newborn, she slept in the Pack n' Play in our bedroom. Before Evie came along, Wilson used to always sleep in our bed everynight. The first night Evie slept in our bedroom, Wilson decided to sleep somewhere else. The second Evie started crying, Wilson bolted right out of the room. He was like this for quite some time. He kept his distance from the crying baby. He still refuses to sleep in our room.

I'm glad to report that Wilson has since grown to love Evie. Now that she cries far less, he is not so unsure about her. In fact, he is always close to her during play time. When I leave Evie on the floor for a minute or two to load the washing machine or do a quick chore, Wilson takes guard and watches over Evie. One time I came back to find Evie holding onto Wilson's ear. Being the good dog he is, Wilson did not budge or nip at her. He just sat very still. Evie loves watching Wilson. She coos, laughs, and smiles when he his near. I'm glad they get along now!
