Colorado Day 1

To celebrate TEN years of marriage, Judd and I took a vacation to Colorado. We have never been there before, and I am so glad we went! We flew into Denver, took a shuttle to downtown where we rented a car, and drove to Estes Park.

(side note) While we drove through urban Denver, I was really impressed with all the box and raised bed vegetable gardens I saw. Really cool in such an urban setting!

We were so amazed at how FLAT and BORING Denver was and then all of a sudden as we drove north west we started to see the mountains spike up out of the horizon. Us Floridians, are used to visiting the Smokey Mountains which are hills compared to the Rockies! Our first day we arrived by 9:30am, so we drove up to Estes Park and into the Rocky Mountain National Park. We took Trail Ridge Road to the top. It was really foggy and creepy. We could not see more than 10 feet ahead of us. Plus it was freezing cold up there!

Welcome!

A couple minutes after we got up to this level, a storm blew through with sleet or frozen rain. It was something REALLY cold!

We stayed at a cute Swiss style inn. This was our view from the patio.

And this was our view at the grocery store! So nice!
