Snow Day Part 2

We woke up this morning to Judd's blasting alarm clock at 6:45 to realize that we did not have power. I instantly got worried about having to spend the day without power when it feels like 0 degrees outside. On Twitter I found that a friend was out of power as well. While Judd took a shower, in candle light, I called the power company to hear a recording explain they were doing 15 minute rolling blackouts to conserve energy. Sure enough, at 7:00, the power returned. We had a total of 5 blackouts today. It really wasn't that bad. I'm thankful to be comfortable in this cold weather, because I know there are many in the Dallas area who are not as fortunate as me.

This morning I was determined to have a great snow day with Evie. It is very unexpected that I ever get to spend a work day off with Evie, so I soaked up every second! I texted a friend, who had just moved to Wisconsin for some snow day activities. She had great ideas, and we tried most of them. Here they are:

Finger Painting

cleaning up all by herself

When she was ready to quit, she said "eat" and started rubbing her tummy.

the frozen backyard

Snack Time: Hard boiled egg (her new favorite)

Veggie Tales Music Video

dancing to the music

Winter Dressup

Cotton Ball Snowman

Mommy's snowman, with Evie's help

wiping her nose

her "cheese" smile (she really does say cheese)

Evie's initials

Making Lunch: Tuna fish (also a new favorite)
mixing it up

had to grab a bite, couldn't resist

Couch Fort
She crawled through it twice, and then was done.

The least blurry picture I could get!
