Airplane!

This post is the first of many posts documenting our recent vacation to Florida. With Evie talking and picking up so many words so quickly, I started telling her about airplanes a couple days before our trip. We drew pictures of them with sidewalk chalk. We looked for them in the sky, which is very easy to do living in the DFW area just 15 minutes from the airport. Once we were at the airport, Evie was super excited to actually ride in the airplane!

Once we arrived in Tampa, Judd's dad (Grandpa Chip or as Evie says, "Pa Pa Chip"), met us at the airport to drop off the car seat. After we picked up the rental car, we met Pa Pa Chip at La Teresita, a well known Cuban cafe in West Tampa. Every time we're in town, we make a stop at this Tampa landmark.

plantanos are similar to a banana
they are ripe when the peel turns black

Cuban sandwich
(pork, salami, ham, lettuce, tomato, Swiss, mustard, & mayo)

Evie tastes Cuban bread for the first time (it's NOT French bread)

a desert must, flan
